OTT Release In July 2023
Asvins
Available on Netflix
A film that appears cliched with abandoned bungalows, five buddies, and malevolent spirits is actually a delight to watch as the plot unfolds. There aren’t many jump scares, but the plot is a must-see for any horror film fan. As we watch the film, we can see Tarun Teja‘s vision of making a psychological horror film. All of this, combined with Vasanth Ravi’s passionate performance, makes this Telegu Tamil language film one of the best July releases.

Maamannan
Available on Netflix
This Tamil sociopolitical drama film has previously received positive reviews in theaters and is now available on Netflix. As one would anticipate from a Mari Selvaraj film, we see persecution in its most heinous form against the vulnerable, a good love aspect, and an inhuman villain against a courageous heart hero. The struggle for dominance is depicted in the film’s latter half. Overall, it is a film for everyone.

This season, we bid farewell to our most cherished characters while maintaining the same eccentricity, fun, romance, and friendships. Needless to say, this is one of the best OTT releases this month.

Shrenik Arora’s performance may be seen on Adhura. This kid is undoubtedly one of the finest things about the series. There’s a reason why this is regarded as one of the top ott releases this month.

Babylon
Available on Amazon Prime
This 2022 film had its OTT debut this month on Amazon Prime. The fantastic cast and Damien Chazelle’s direction make this three-hour-long film worthwhile seeing. The film depicts the brutal realities of 1920s Hollywood. Both the execution and the message are pretty powerful, dealing with censorship and drawing lines between liberal and hedonistic film, where life here becomes pointless but your screen presence is now for eternity.

Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant
Available on Amazon Prime
Though not based on true events, the film is largely inspired by the lives of numerous Afghan translators who were promised visas but were left to fend for themselves following the United States’ exit from Afghanistan in 2021. The writing and performances make this a riveting viewing, and it is often regarded as Guy Ritchie’s best work to date.

Tarla
Available on Zee5
A film based on the life of Tarla Dalal, India’s most famous home cook, is a must-see. It’s simple but fun, and it makes you feel wonderful. Huma Qureshi’s portrayal as Tarla Dalal was good, but Sharib Hashmi wins for playing a devoted husband. This is the type of film you might watch with your mother.

IB71
Available on Disney Hotstar
Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, IB71 had a lot of potential, which was primarily realized by Vidyut Jammwal. Though there is a lot going on in the first half, the second half brings everything together, and the movie is worth seeing because of Jammwal’s action climax.

Kaalkoot

Strong performances and good writing can elevate a simple story to epic proportions. This is true of Kaalkoot. Kaalkoot is a very basic yet powerful story of a man who attempts to reconcile his professional and personal life as a cop in UP, starring Vijay Verma, Shweta Tripathi, Yash Sharma, and others, and written by Arunabh Kumar and Sumit Saxena. The attention to detail is excellent in this.
